Rincon is the best beach in the Dominican Republic and the whole world, according to the authoritative opinion of someone there. Should I trust this authoritative opinion? Let's find out!
Once upon a time, some Western magazine called Rincon the best beach in the world. Then this ridiculous assessment was picked up by many bloggers and began to exploit it.
The beach, of course, is not bad, but far from the best in the world and even on Samana.
Why Rincon Beach is so good:
- long (as much as 4 km) and wide,
- almost all wild, you can easily find a completely deserted place,
- beautiful mountains around,
- nice and almost white sand,
- cute palms.
Why is Rincon Beach so bad?:
- there are attacks and robbery of tourists, which makes you feel uncomfortable and the desire to walk disappears,
- the western edge of the beach is very crowded (mostly locals hang out),
- on our visit, almost the entire coast was littered with discarded seaweed.
On the same Samana, I liked the Colorado beach much more - completely wild, more intimate and picturesque. Well, there are certainly thousands of better beaches in the world. So it's better not to believe such ratings.
